Graham had two spells with Dewsbury as a player, first joining in 1989 before leaving for Bradford Bulls in 1995.

He returned in 1999 to help the Rams finish top of the Northern Ford Premiership and was instrumental in helping the Rams win three major honours the following year.

The ex-Rams star has also earned 10 international caps for Scotland and appeared at the Rugby League World Cup in 2000.

“I’m really happy to add Nathan to our coaching staff. He brings a wealth of experience and is a hero at the club from his playing days,” said head coach Lee Greenwood.

“We had a big number of experienced applicants for the assistant coach role, which was pleasing, but Nathan seems a perfect fit.”

Meanwhile, new arrival Clavering joins Dewsbury having come through the ranks at Hull KR.

He has made professional appearances for York City Knights and Coventry Bears and Greenwood believes the forward is ready for the step up to the second tier.

He added: “He is a big unit with a high skill level and if he can really apply himself in pre-season I believe he can make the step up to Championship rugby.”
