Head coach Lee Greenwood is happy with the squad he has at his disposal ahead of the 2021 campaign but revealed there is scope to further strengthen his side.

The season for Championship clubs is due to begin at the end of February, with sides out of action since March 2020, representing an almost year-long hiatus for teams outside of Super League.

“We are in a good position, where we have got our squad sorted and were the season to start tomorrow we are strong but we feel like we have a good 17 and a good squad available to us,” said the Dewsbury chief.

“There is still room there, squad wise and funds wise, to bring in three more players if needed. We are in a good position. We do as much homework as possible before bringing someone in.

“You wouldn’t go back more than two years looking at video reels unless it is someone who has been out of the game or injured. You want it to be as current as possible.

“There is always a slight risk but it is about making that risk as low as possible when you bring them in.

“I feel we have done that with a lot of our players. For me there are some exciting projects in there.”
