Pitches closed
KIRKLEES Council have announced this morning (Thursday) that all council managed pitches will be closed this weekend because of the recent bad weather and bearing in mind the forecast of more bad weather to come.
It will mean all sport, football, rugby and cricket and others on council run pitches will be postponed this weekend.
A Kirklees spokesperson said: “Prolonged bad weather has led to flooding on some pitches whilst others are waterlogged and unplayable. All matches have been called off as a result.”
