Ratcliffe stars for Crossbank

Yasser Imtiaz hit 60 in reply but Birkby were bowled out for 149 in 28 overs thanks to the efforts of Hassan Patel (4-34), Fakir Laher (3-19), Riyaz Motala (2-39) and Ahmed Patel (1-22).

Crossbank Meths earned a 68-run victory in a low scoring match at Birchencliffe.

David Bedford (36) top scored as Crossbank were bowled out for 117 on a bowler friendly wicket.

However, Paul Ratcliffe swung the game in the visitors’ favour with a superb display as he claimed six wickets for just three runs in eight overs, five of which were maidens.

Jack Spencer picked up 3-14 as Birchencliffe were dismissed for just 49 in reply.

Upper Hopton are third-bottom just four points above the relegation zone after they suffered a seven-wicket defeat to Edgerton & Dalton.

Although Jordan France made 32, with Joseph Manning (24) and Tom Wilks (24) supporting, Hopton were bowled out for 150.

Russ Laycock (2-38) and Wilks (1-29) picked up wickets in reply but Edgerton eased home thanks to Sajid Malik (41) and Khalil Rahman (46no).

Thornhill & Westborough suffered a 38-run defeat to Premier Section leaders Almondbury Wesleyans.

David Longworth (4-39) had Almondbury in trouble early on but 57 not out from no9 Oliver Shaw helped the home side reach 164-9 from their 45 overs.

Nick Finnigan made 34 at the top of the Thornhill innings, while George Robinson ended 38 not out but the visitors were bowled out for 126 as David Hales (4-13) and Darrell Sykes (3-32) did the damage.

Heckmondwike & Carlinghow earned a 26-run victory over Old Almondburians as they remain just six points outside the Section A promotion places with five matches remaining.

Matthew Crowther (45) and Shoaib Rehman (43) led the Heckmondwike innings and with Ilyas Hashmi hitting 27 not out late on, they closed on 160-8, with Chamika Karangodamadalige claiming 4-39.

Ismail Haji picked up 4-32 in reply and with Hashmi and Rehman capping fine games with two wickets apiece, Almondburians were bowled out for 134 in the penultiamte over.

Mirfield lie fourth-bottom after they slipped to a 27-run defeat at Heckmondwike & Carlinghow’s promotion rivals Silkstone.

Tamoor Saghir claimed 3-33 but was unable to prevent Silkstone posting 208-9 from their 45 overs.

Early wickets fell at regular intervals in reply before Nas Saudagar (69), Ajmal Zarif (48no) and Tim Dixon (28) led a Mirfield fightback but they fell short on 181 all out in the 42nd over.

Gawthorpe St Marys had an eight-wicket derby victory over Upper Hopton B and they lie fourth in Section C.

David Callaghan (3-17) and Ian Craigen (3-10) impressed as Hopton were bowled out for 105, with Alexander Hill (35) top scoring.

Andrew Callaghan hit 63 at the top of the Gawthorpe reply and with Tom Bilsborough making 32 not out, they eased to 108-2 in 27 overs.
