Liversedge FC have begun their preparations for the new Northern Counties East League season with two victories.

Sedge, who produced a great escape to preserve their Premier Division status last season, are looking to build on that momentum and have started well.

They overcame Ealandians 2-0 in Saturday’s pre-season opener thanks to goals from Hyton and Reece Davis.

Sedge fell 1-0 behind in Tuesday’s friendly against Oakenshaw but hit back to lead 6-1 at half-time with a brace apiece from Joe Walton and Vaughan Redford together with goals from Steve Wailes and Jevan Benjamin.

Redford completed his hat-trick after the break to seal a 7-1 win.
