Rimmington targets Liversedge improvements

Liversedge currently lie fourth-bottom in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division but Rimmington has introduced several new signings and is aiming to steer his side away from danger and up the table.

Max Elliot signed from Nostell Miners Welfare last Friday, joining former teammate Craig Tonkinson.

Regan Fish (Glassghoughton Welfare), Niall Coulthard and James Arnold (both Selby Town) have all joined the Liversedge revolution, along with Josh Greenhalgh, signed from Evo Stik club Mossley, and a new goalkeeper in Dom Smith from Garforth Town.

The overhaul came after Kieran Corley, Brooke Newton and Andrew Wood left the club, forcing Rimmington to seek replacements.

Liversedge entertain Cleethorpes Town on Saturday (ko 3pm) and Rimmington has not ruled out further signings.

He said: “There will be two or three new strikers this week, with two having already agreed to join us and this makes for a very exciting time at Sedge.

“We are looking for youthful, hungry players that want to put a shift in for the club.

“I believe the we are at a fantastic club with great people who run it and we need to stick together.

“From the off I said it would take three years to get Sedge up the league as for the last three years we have been sitting in the bottom three or four places, but I can assure all we are trying our utmost to turn the club into a success.

“We will bring in players with ability and hunger as this is a prerequisite to play in my team and it will become apparent as time passes.”
