Victory boosted Dewsbury’s hopes of clinching a top-six finish before the Super Eights stage of the season.

The Rams started brightly and were rewarded with a 22nd minute try when Anthony Thackeray’s neat kick right was gathered by winger Dale Morton to cross at the corner.

Brett Seymour continued his good form with the boot by landing the touchline conversion.

Aaron Brown was held up over the line as Dewsbury threatened to extend their lead before Whitehaven struck back to level through a Declan Hulme try, converted by Louis Jouffret.

Nathan Conroy has penned a permanent deal to stay at Dewsbury in 2016 and he scooted over to regain the Rams lead, with Seymour converting to give them a 12-6 interval lead.

Haven replied three minutes into the second half when Craig Calvert gathered Dion Aye’s pass to race over for the try.

Brown dropped a Seymour pass with a clear run to the line but soon after Scott Hale gave Dewsbury breathing space when he crossed between the posts and Seymour’s conversion was a formality.

Toby Adamson had a terrific game for the Rams and was rewarded when he met the ball at pace to race over for their fourth try which Morton converted.

Morton added his second try soon after as Dewsbury threatened to run away with the game.

Ben Davies replied with a 69th minute try for the home side, which Jouffret improved but it proved only a consolation as Dewsbury had the last word when Joel Farrell crossed four minutes from full-time and Morton converted to complete victory.
