Dewsbury coach Morrison said: “I have had a lot of time for Jason’s development since his early days and I look forward to partnering up with him for this season and letting him show his talents with the Rams.

“He has been a full-time player from the age of 16 and has represented England at a junior level.”

Former Dewsbury player Ryan Glynn has joined the club’s Reserve Team coaching staff.

Glynn has battled back from a serious neck injury sustained while playing with the Shaw Cross Sharks amateur club but has remained involved with the game locally and is highly regarded as an aspiring coach.

Dewsbury are keen to give promising local players a chance in the second string and Glynn will assist Reserve team coach Jonathan Schofield and Morrison in achieving this.

Morrison added: “After hearing about Glynny’s injury, which prevented him from playing rugby again, and upon hearing of his interest to get in to coaching, we moved quickly to snap him up and provide him with a pathway that will keep him in sport and help him fast-track his coaching career.”

Dewsbury recently signed five players from the local game, including Dewsbury Moor duo James and Brad Delaney, who could both be involved in the Rams game at newly named Newcastle Thunder tomorrow.
