Rams move fourth after capital success

Dewsbury Rams moved up to fourth place in the Kingstone Press Championship following a terrific 20-16 victory at London Broncos on Sunday.

The Rams became the first team this season to win at The Hive and they go into this Sunday’s game against unbeaten league leaders Leigh Centurions with confidence,

London took a seventh minute lead through a Ben Hellewell try converted by Wes Naiqama but the Rams levelled when Karl Pryce touched down and Tom Hemingway improved and it remained 6-6 at half-time.

Kieran Hyde gave Dewsbury a 42nd minute lead with a try which Hemingway converted,

London drew level when Illies Macana scored and Naiqama converted only for Hyde to edge the Rams 14-12 head with a 62nd minute penalty.

Aaron Brown grabbed a crucial try 13 minutes from full-time, with Hyde’s converted putting Dewsbury 20-12 ahead.

Macana grabbed a last minute consolation try for the Broncos but it took nothing away from an excellent away performance by the Rams.
