Dewsbury Rams claimed the derby bragging rights with a hard-fought 19-12 win over Batley Bulldogs in the Summer Bash encounter at Blackpool FC’s Bloomfield Road on Sunday.

Tries from Rams’ Scott Hale and Aaron Brown, both converted by Brett Seymour, were countered by touchdowns from Brad Day and Alex Brown. Scott Leatherbarrow added a conversion and a penalty to make it 12-12 on the hour.

Seymour hit the post with a penalty but Rams regained possession and seconds later Dalton Grant crossed to put Rams ahead again.

The Rams’ second victory over Bulldogs this season was sealed when Anthony Thackeray landed a field goal.
