Teale bags hat-trick of tries as Celtic U16s seal fine win

Centre Lewis Teale opened Celtic’s account after three minutes with a try in the corner which Charlie Heaton converted.

Teale scored his second soon after and Celtic MoM, prop George Bussey, also crossed with Heaton adding both goals for an 18-0 lead.

Dearne Valley replied with a converted try but opposition MoM Connor Appleyard powered over for another Celtic score, with Heaton again adding the goal.

Hooker Cameron Berry raced 30 metres to score a fine individual try and Heaton’s fifth goal put Celtic 30-6 ahead at half-time.

Teale bagged his hat-trick 10 minutes after the re-start and Appleyard crossed for his second try which Heaton improved before Dearne Valley replied with a late consolation try.

Dewsbury Celtic Under-15s overcome a strong visiting Guiseley Rangers 36-12 at Crow Nest Park.

Powerful forward Tynam Moses opened the scoring with a fine try from inside his own half and although Guiseley attempted to hit back, opposition MoM Gabriel Croft went over from close range.

Moses added his second try and Connor Pickles also crossed as Celtic held a comfortable 20-0 lead at half-time.

Guiseley replied with two successfully converted tries before Celtic gained possession in the middle with MoM Oliver Thornton taking control.

Croft burst through to score his second try and Moses then completed his hat-trick, with Joel Watson adding both conversions to seal an impressive away win.

Dewsbury Celtic Under-14s got back to winning ways with a hard fought victory over Beeston Broncos.

Playing up the hill in the first half, Celtic defended their line well and a quick play the ball allowed Kieran Wilkins to race over at the corner to open the scoring with an unconverted try.

More great work from Joe Mitchell, Ethan Parkinson, Jake Sykes and Morgan Ferry kept Beeston on the back foot and a penalty just before the break allowed Celtic to take a 6-0 lead into half-time.

The second half was much the same with all the Celtic team playing a part to preserve their advantage.

Jordan Callaghan raced clear to score between the posts with Kia Denvers converting.

Beeston, to their credit, never gave up and replied when the scrum-half kicked through and regathered to score a great try which he converted.

Beeston threw everything at the Celtic defence in the final few minutes as they attempted to draw level but the home side remained strong and relieved the pressure with some great solo runs from MoM Ethan Parkinson, Tom Senior and Charlie Pashley.

Celtic were awarded another penalty which Kia Denvers kicked from out wide to secure victory and ensure the Dewsbury side extended their unbeaten home run.
