Sagar leads Spenborough runners home at West Yorkshire cross country

The second West Yorkshire Cross Country League fixture took place at Nunroyd Park, Guiseley, on Sunday when Spenborough AC's senior men repeated their eighth place of the first fixture.

Joe Sager again led the team home in 10th place ahead of team mates Simon Bolland (44th), Kevin Ogden (47th), under 20 runner Tobin Rhodes (56th), Edward Revell (77th) and Neil Barker (80th).

Daniel Garbutt, from Skyrac, repeated his win from the first race.

The Spenborough women, led in by Jenni Muston in 15th place, finished 13th team.

Other Spen runners were Natasha Greere (61st), Emma McGuire (80th) and Joanne Burden (92nd).

In the younger age races Olivia Reah was 21st and Mia Butler 45th in the Under-15 girls race and Harry Brackenridge placed 26th in the Under-15 boys race.

Molly Firth (ninth), Isabel Toher (23rd), Ruby Lawton (59th) and Emily Sharp (60th) were 10th team in the Under-11 girls race and in the corresponding boys race Matthew Dalton (thirrd), James Bell (53rd) and Logan Bailey (61st) helped Spen to a ninth place team finish.

Spenborough will host the third fixture on fields near the Princess Mary Stadium on November 20.
