Scholes and Liversedge close gap after away wins

Scholes earned a 4-2 victory over Batley Celtics to move within a point of third placed Battyeford in Division One.

Gareth Jones (two), Jonny Irving and Mick Hutton were on target for Athletic, with Rafal Siudak and David Bennington replying for Celtics, who are just a point above second-bottom Birkenshaw having now played three games more.

FC Liversedge moved level on 13 points with Battyeford and are six behind second placed The Yokshireman after their 5-1 win over Punch Bowl Cleckheaton.

Danny Stocks fired a hat-trick with Lee McKeown and Mark Wigley also netting.
