Staincliffe stay top of touch rugby table

STAINCLIFFE remain four points clear at the top of the HB Clark Seniors Tough Rugby League competition following a 7-3 win over Batley Boys last Friday.

J Roadnight and T Toole bagged a hat-trick apiece for Staincliffe, with J Maloney also crossing, while J Simpson, C Ford and I Sparrow replied for Batley Boys.

Shaw Cross overcame Thornhill 5-1 and they stay second after D Senior (two), J Ripley, M Chapman and J Bates scored.

Chapman is the competition’s leading try scorer with nine, one ahead of Roadnight.

P Heaton, P Halloran, P Khan and J Jennings all scored for Dewsbury Celtic but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 6-4 defeat to Dewsbury Moor, who are up to fourth.

Butchers Arms ran out 8-6 winners over Partners, made up of players from Drighlington RL and Morley RU clubs.

N Summers (two), M Senior, D Jarrett, D Hague and J Donnoachie scored for Partners.
