Sykes steps up pace
GARY Sykes has stepped up preparations ahead of his eagerly awaited return to the ring at the Hull City Hall on Friday March 23.
The Dewsbury boxer has been sparring lightweight Tommy Coyle, who will top the bill in Hull, at the Central Boxing Club in Batley this week.
Coyle has an unblemished 10 fight professional record and has already sparred Scotland’s two weight world champion Ricky Burns in preparation for his Central Area title fight against Blackburn’s Graeme Higginson, so it should have provided Sykes with a decent work out.
