Tottenham Hotspur’s Scott Parker set to captain England against the Netherlands

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker is expected to captain England in their friendly against the Netherlands at Wembley tonight (Wednesday).

It is understood that England caretaker manager Stuart Pearce has picked Parker ahead Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Manchester City duo James Milner and Joe Hart.

Parker, 31, made his debut in 2003 and has won 10 caps. He was voted England Player of the Year by fans on Tuesday.
