Trojans and Moor eye semis

The competition is for teams in Divisions Two, Three and Four, and the sides are very close in the league with Selby top of Division Three, but only two points ahead of the Trojans, who have a game in hand.

When the sides met at Selby in October, the Warriors gained a narrow 20-18 victory. The Trojans are in league action on Tuesday when they visit Oulton A (7.30pm).

Dewsbury Moor have home advantage in the Pennine President’s Cup quarter-finals but face a big task as they meet Premier Division side Siddal A at Heckmondwike Road.

The Moor’s good league run was halted by a home defeat by Clayton last weekend and this will be another big challenge.

Dewsbury Celtic are another side out to avenge a previous 20-18 defeat when they meet Batley Boys in Yorkshire League Division Two at Halifax Road.

The Boys had that narrow margin in their favour when they won in Crow Nest Park and leapfrogged Celtic into second place last weekend when the Dewsbury side’s five-match winning league run was halted at Moorends.

The Batley side are on a good run of their own and have won seven league games on the trot.
