Trojans close in on title – Celtic target play-offs

THORNHILL Trojans have timed their run nicely as they seek to finish top of Pennine League Division Three.

They were a point ahead of Dudley Hill A at the top as the sides met in Bradford last night, although Selby with two games in hand could yet pip them both.

Whatever last night’s outcome, Thornhill will expect to register another win on Saturday when they meet struggling Greetland at Overthorpe Park (2.30pm).

Dewsbury Moor have a tough game in the Pennine Championship division as they try to end a run of three successive league defeats when they visit leaders Wibsey, who have been beaten only once in the league this time.

Dewsbury Celtic’s recent surge has put them in sight of a play-off place in Yorkshire League Division Two and they will expect to maintain momentum when they meet bottom side Wakefield City in Crow Nest Park.

In Division Three White Rose have a chance of the play-offs and have a keen game against Eastmoor A at Bywell Fields. The visitors are in fourth place, three points ahead of Rose but have played three games more. Shaw Cross A, who have no game, are third, a point ahead of Eastmoor but the chasers have games in hand of the Sharks as it points to a tight finish for the play-off spots.
