Trojans to stage charity fight night

THORNHILL Trojans are holding a charity boxing night to raise money for Help the Heroes and the club.

They raised around £500 for the charity last year and hope to top that on Saturday May 19, the same night Dewsbury’s Gary Sykes fights for the WBO super featherweight title.

The 12 boxers involved at Thornhill Sports and Community Centre are members of the Trojans’ teams or involved in the local community. The evening has been put together by first team player Jake Ratcliffe.

There are six bouts with former Dewsbury player Darren Robinson facing Dale Brook. The others are Ben Kendall v Adam Bird, Adam Hoyle v James Folan, Kev Johnson v Rob Chapman, Scott Green v Liam Green and Tom Holdsworth v Jay Day.
