Trophies donated to bowling section
The Tate Cup and Taylor Shield were played for by Batley Rate Payers but have been handed over to Hanging Heaton for safe keeping.
Jerry Hird, who had wanted to get the trophies back into local bowls, said: “I have been looking for a while as it was the wish of the late Jeff Bootie, a bowler with the Taverners Club, that they would remain safe.
