The reigning English champion faces the biggest test of his career when he travels to Hull to take on Mouneimne for the vacant Commonwealth featherweight title.

Warrington has been training vigorously since defending his English title against Ian Bailey at Elland Road on September 27 and is now looking forward to another big test.

Warrington said: “People will see me as the underdog, especially away from home, but we went to Dudley and won the English title and intend to do the same in Hull.

“I’ve been given around 60 tickets but I’m sure my supporters will go there and make some noise.

“He (Mouneimne) will have been telling everyone what he’s going to do to me but that helps take the pressure off a bit.

“He’s a very good kid and is the only man to have beaten Lee Selby but we have a game plan and will go there to do the business.”

Warrington has been racking up the rounds in sparring Central stablemate Gary Sykes, himself training for a shot at the British super featherweight title.

Warrington said: “Everyone knows Gary’s calibre. He’s mixed it with some of the best and although he may be bigger and stronger than me, it’s great to be working with him and we all rub off each other.”

Warrington boasts a 15 fight winning run as a professional, while Mouneimne is also unbeaten having won 12 and drawn one of his 13 bouts.

Warrington added: “It’s a very exciting time. Just a year ago we went away and took the English title and now we are going to do the same with the Commonwealth.

“I only boxed a couple of weeks ago, at home, and with Christmas coming up I know times are hard but I have a loyal fan base and I know people will come watch me whatever and I really appreciate that.”

Warrington has a batch of £40 tickets and some VIP ringside priced £150 which includes a free bar.

He is also organising coach travel from Leeds and anyone interested should contact him via Twitter @J_Warrington.
