Live at Leeds goes outdoor on Briggate

Another addition has been revealed for the Live at Leeds festival which is celebrating 10 years of breaking the latest and greatest new acts this month.

Live At Leeds 2016 will have more than 200 artists playing across the city in what is now becoming the UK’s must go to metropolitan festival and will now also have a special, free to all music stage and food area for the festival on Leeds’ most prominent street.

Briggate is one of the oldest streets in Leeds and will welcome Live at Leeds’ first outdoor stage in celebration of their tenth birthday.

Bands to grace the stage will include local favourites Glass Caves mixing it up with music from Fletcher Jackson, Katie Dean, Party Hardly, Where Fires Are and Colour of Spring, bringing exclusive performances from some of Leeds’ hidden soon to breakthrough musical talent.

As well as the music, there is chance to grab a photo in the Dr Martens pop-up photobooth and a small food area brought to you by Leeds Indie Food, featuring Pizza Fella, Diamond Dogs and Sela Bar bringing their award winning burgers to Briggate, cementing the area has a must visit for a fuel stop and to check out the latest bands.

The area is being run in partnership with Leeds BID (Business Improvement District) and Leeds City Council who are backing the stage in support of Leeds’ biggest multi-site festival which takes place on April 30.

“It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time; bring LAL out of the venues on and onto the streets for the city to enjoy and it gives the public a taste of what amazing musical talent we have in the city. We hope the outside element of LAL will be something we can develop year on year.”
